Ashurst Park

Ashurst Park is a sports park located in Pukete to the north of the city and provides a great location for active recreation for the surrounding residential community. The park is home to the Te Rapa Sportsdrome which provides beach volleyball and indoor bowls.

Facilities include: 1 cricket pitch, 3 sports fields, a public toilet, changing room, play equipment and a carpark with 80 spaces.

Bremworth Park

Bremworth Park is located in Dinsdale to the south of the main road to Raglan. It is often used by school and clubs for atheletics.

Facilities include: Athletics area, 3 sports fields, public toilets, changing rooms, shed, play equipment and a carpark with 25 spaces.

Bristol Park

Bristol Park is located in the Te Rapa Industrial area and is home to three clubs. The Waikato Canine Obedience Club Incorporated lease part of the park, The Riverside Rodders Hotrod Club meet regularly at the park and the Hamilton Radio Control Car Club calls Bristol Park home and have several events here throughout the year.

Facilities include: 2 changing rooms, clubroom, radio control car track, dog exercise area, carpark with 15 spaces

Chartwell Park

Chartwell Park is located close to the Queenwood Shops in Chartwell. The park provides junior soccer fields which are busy during the winter months and a playground in a beautiful native gully setting with links to surrounding neighbourhoods including a walk through the gully to Bankwood Road.

Facilities include: 3 sports fields, play equipment, public toilets

Clyde Park

Clyde Park is located in the Hillcrest/Hamilton East area, close to shops, University, residential areas. Knighton Normal School backs onto the park and pupils use the park as a safe shortcut to school. The park caters for soccer in winter and cricket in summer.

Facilities include: 1 cricket pitch, 2 sports fields, public toilets, and a carpark with 30 spaces.

Derek Heather Park

Derek Heather Park is located in the west of Hamilton. The park is named after former doctor and city Councillor Derek Heather who was active in the parks industry.

Facilities include: 2 sports fields and play equipment.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park located in the suburb of Flagstaff. In the winter the three full size sports fields provide for soccer and are often split into the junior version of this sport. In summer the fields form two cricket grounds with concrete pitches.

Facilities include: 2 cricket pitches, 3 sports fields, public toilets, changing rooms, field tiles and a carpark with 30 spaces.

Dominion Park

Dominion Park is located in the Nawton/Crawshaw area. Crawshaw Primary School backs onto the park and pedestrian links are provided to the surrounding neighbourhood streets that are well utilised by school children.

Facilities include: 1 cricket pitch, 2 sports fields and play equipment.

Elliot Park

Elliott Park is located in the west of Hamilton. It is named after the Elliott Family who used to own the land over which Fraser High School now sits. The park borders the school and is a great asset to the pupils in terms of providing an increased area for sport and a skateboard park. The Western Community Centre leases a corner of the park and provides a gathering place for the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Facilities include: 5 sports fields, public toilets, changing rooms, training lights, community centre, play equipment and Skate Park.

Enderley Park

Enderley Park is a neighbourhood focal point for the Enderley Community. Not only does the park provide a sports field with training lights, it is also the home of the Enderley Park Community Centre.

Facilities include: 1 sports field, public toilets, changing rooms, play equipment, community centre, training lights.

Fairfield Park

Fairfield Park is in the suburb of Fairfield. The Park has a hall which serves as a community centre.  The park has many links to the surrounding neighbourhood and is located next to Fairfield Primary School.

Facilities include: 1 cricket pitch, 2 sports fields, 4 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, 1 netball court, changing rooms, public toilets, clubroom and a carpark with 40 spaces.

Fitzroy Park

Fitzroy Park is located to the south of Hamilton. The sports fields and facilities provided are used for soccer matches and the occasional cricket game in summer. There is a gully running alongside one edge of the park that is part of the Mangakotukutuku system.

Facilities include: 1 cricket pitch, 2 sports fields, play equipment, changing rooms, public toilets and a carpark with 22 spaces.

Flagstaff Park

Flagstaff Park is a sports park located in the north of Hamilton. Surrounded by a lively sporting neighbourhood the park is home to the Eastern Suburbs Rugby Sports Club who lease the clubrooms on site.

Facilities include: 3 sports fields, public toilets, changing rooms, clubrooms, play equipment, walkway/cycleway linkage, training lights and a carpark with 60 spaces.

Flynn Park

Flynn Park is a small sports park consisting of one playing field and a paddock area leased to the Hamilton Light Horse Club. The Park is the southern most section of the original East Town Belt.

Facilities include: 1 sports field, changing rooms and training lights.

Fraser Tech Park

Fraser Tech Park is located in Central Hamilton across Seddon Road from Waikato Stadium – Waikato’s premiere rugby ground. The park was initially home to Fraser Tech Rugby Football Club but over time the use of the park for events has required the club to move to Elliot Park for games. The clubrooms are still located across the road from Fraser Tech Park.

Facilities include: 1 sports field, changing rooms and training lights.

Galloway Park

Galloway Park is one of the oldest sports parks in Hamilton located in Hamilton East. It is the home of cricket and also the Hamilton East Croquet Club.

Facilities include: 4 sports fields, 4 cricket pitches, croquet lawn, public toilets, changing rooms, clubrooms, play equipment and a carpark with 25 spaces.

Glenview Park

Glenview Park is a sports park located in the south of the city. The park was originally used for hockey before the introduction of Astroturf. Today the park serves the junior sport community in Glenview – particularly in the sports of cricket and soccer.

Facilities include: 4 junior sports fields, 3 cricket pitches, public toilets, changing rooms, clubrooms and play equipment.

Gower Park

Gower Park is named after Doctor Gower who was a member of the Hamilton Domain Board and also a prominent doctor at nearby Waikato Hospital. Melville United Soccer Club has their home at Gower Park. This club has a proud history and the number one ground at the park is maintained to a national level so that this can continue.

Facilities include: 8 sports fields, 2 public toilets, 2 changing rooms, clubrooms, play equipment, training lights and 2 carparks with 120 spaces.

Graham Park

Graham Park is positioned close to State Highway One and across Cobham Drive from the Waikato River. It is home to the Hamilton Archery Club and permanent targets are set up on the open space part of the park. The Hospital borders the park on the western side and is often used by hospital visitors as a quiet area to walk through and relax in.

Facilities include: archery area and a walkway link to the Waikato Hospital.

Grosvenor Park

Grosvenor Park is a small sports park in the north of Hamilton fronting the busy Thomas Road. Junior soccer is a big user of the park and on a Saturday in winter hundreds of children can be seen playing games across the park.

Facilities include: 4 junior sports fields, 1 cricket pitch and play equipment.

Hillcrest Bowling Club

Hillcrest Bowling Club is located in the suburb of Hillcrest. It is leased entirely to the club.

Facilities include: Bowling Greens, Clubrooms

Hillcrest Park

Hillcrest Park is located in the suburb of Hillcrest and has 3 sports fields which are used for rugby in winter and cricket over the summer months. Hillcrest Bush is in the centre of the park. This consists of one of the most significant stands of Kahikatea in the city and is one of the last remnants of the forests which would have covered Hamilton in pre-human times.

Facilities include: 3 sports fields, public toilet, changing room, play equipment, 1 carpark with 43 spaces

Hillcrest Stadium

Hillcrest Stadium is located in the suburb of Hillcrest and consists of a tarsealed cycling track with a sports field in the centre. Often used by recreational cyclists as a practice track.

Facilities include: 1 sports field, cycling track

Hinemoa Park

Hinemoa Park is home to the Hamilton Squash and Tennis Club who have their courts and clubrooms at the park, as well as the Hamilton City Bowling Club and the Hamilton Amateur Radio Club.

Facilities include: 3 Clubrooms, 2 carparks with 83 spaces

Innes Common

Innes Common has a unique location beside Hamilton Lake Domain and has amazing views across the lake. The park has 4 cricket pitches and is also the Waikato’s home of hockey with two Astroturf and the Waikato Hockey clubrooms located here.

Facilities include: 4 cricket pitches, 2 hockey turfs and practice turf, 1 sports field

Jansen Park

Jansen Park is a large cricket and soccer park in the suburb of Hillcrest. It has a good location being easily accessible from the highways to Morrinsville and Cambridge as well as being a handy neighbourhood park for the suburbs of Hillcrest and Silverdale.

Facilities include: 5 sports fields, 4 cricket pitches, public toilet, changing room, play equipment, carpark with 60 spaces

Kahikatea Park

Kahikatea Park is a small sports park in Dinsdale catering for the surrounding community.

Facilities include: 2 sports fields, play equipment, public toilet

Lugton Park

Lugton Park is a ‘sportsville’ complex is home to the Waikato Tennis Foundation, Eastlink Badminton Society, Hamilton Wado-Kai Karate Club and Hamilton In-line Hockey Club. It is located in Hamilton East, close to the University of Waikato.

Facilities include: tennis courts, badminton courts, changing room, clubroom, play equipment, 3 carparks with 120 spaces, in-line hockey centre.

Marist Park

Marist Park is home to the Marist Rugby Club and is the northern most park in the former East Town Belt. The park caters for rugby in the winter and cricket in summer months.

Facilities include: 3 sports fields, 1 cricket pitch, public toilet, changing room, clubrooms, training lights, 1 carpark with 72 spaces

Minogue Park

Minogue Park is home to Waikato Netball and the Hamilton BMX Club with approximately 22 netball courts provided as well as a full length BMX track. The wide open fields on that park could be a home to a sports club one day. The Hamilton Model Engineers club has model train tracks and accompanying facilities in the north of the park. The park is also home to a sizeable lake – Rotokaeo and Waterworld.

Facilities include: netball courts, bmx track, play equipment, clubrooms, public toilets, carpark, model engineers, luge track, boardwalk

Palmerston Street Reserve

St Peter’s Tennis Club calls this reserve in Hamilton West home and leases most of the area from Council.

Facilities include: Clubrooms, tennis courts, 1 carpark with 70 spaces

Porritt Stadium Sports

Porritt Stadium is located in the suburb of Chartwell and is home to the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Athletic Association. A track and grandstand is provided at the park for this sport with the number one field for Hamilton Wanderers Football Club located in the centre. The club itself is located outside of the stadium itself and has 3 further fields here. There is a dog exercise area at the park that is very popular. There is always something football related going on at Porritt – whether it be competitive football or social soccer set up by the club.

Facilities include: Athletics Track, 4 sports fields, public toilet, changing room, clubroom, play equipment, training lights, dog exercise area, 2 carparks with 176 spaces

Railway Park

Frankton Railway Combined Sports Club have their clubrooms at this park and play on the field provided. A small sports park that serves the surrounding community of former railway houses in the suburb of Frankton.

Facilities include: 1 sports field, clubroom, hall, carpark with 30 spaces

Raymond Park

Raymond Park is located in the suburb of Fairview Downs. It is a sports park that caters for soccer in the winter and cricket over summer.

Facilities include: 3 sports fields, 2 cricket pitches, public toilet, changing room, play equipment, carpark with 25 spaces

Resthills Park

Resthills Park is a large park in Glenview. Split into both a neighbourhood park with a dog exercise area and a sports park the reserve provides good links between communities in the area. The sports component of the park caters for softball and rugby league and is home to the Glenview Rugby League Club. 

Facilities include: 5 sports fields, 6 softball pitches, public toilet, changing room, play equipment, training lights, dog exercise area and 2 carparks with 176 spaces

Rhode Street Park

Rhode Street Park is a small sports park located in Dinsdale. It is utilised heavily by the adjoining Rhode Street School. 

Facilities include: 1 sports field

St Andrews Golf Course

St Andrews Golf Course is a privately run course beside the Waikato River in the suburb of St Andrews. It is one of the Waikato’s premiere courses.

Facilities include: Golf Course and a carpark with 110 spaces

St Andrews Park

St Andrews Park, located in Te Rapa is home to the Te Rapa Rugby Club. It has 3 sports fields and a cricket pitch and is closely linked to Vickery Park to the south as well as possessing good connections to the surrounding residential neighbourhoods.

Facilities include: 3 sports fields, 1 cricket pitch, public toilet, changing room, clubroom, 1 carpark with 80 spaces

Steele Park

Steele Park is one of the oldest parks in Hamilton. It is named after Lieutenant Steele who came to Hamilton aboard the Rangiriri down the Waikato River in 1864. It is situated in Hamilton East, surrounded on all sides by road frontage and is home to some of the oldest oak trees in the city. It has two sports fields and two cricket pitches and is a popular location for summer touch competitions as well as being utilised by Sacred Heart Girls College.

Facilities include: 2 sports fields, 2 cricket pitches, public toilet, changing room, play equipment

Swarbrick Park

Swarbrick Park is a large scale sports park used for rugby in the winter and cricket in the summer. It is located in Frankton and consists of 5 sports fields with 3 cricket pitches. The park is home to the Frankton Rugby Club and is situated next door to Frankton Primary School.

Facilities include: 5 sports fields, 3 cricket pitches, public toilet, changing rooms, clubrooms, play equipment, training lights and a carpark with 35 spaces

Te Kootii Park

Te Kootii Park is located in the suburb of Brymer on the western edge of Hamilton. It consists of two flat sports fields with a hill at the back of the park that affords good views of the surrounding suburbs.

Facilities include: 2 sports fields, 1 cricket pitch, play equipment

Vardon Park

Vardon Park is located in the suburb of Beerescourt/Te Rapa. It has two sports fields including a cricket pitch and is in close proximity to Vardon Primary School and is easily accessible from Te Rapa Straight.

Facilities include: 2 sports fields, 1 cricket pitch, public toilets, play equipment.

Vickery Park

Vickery Park is in the suburb of Te Rapa in North Hamilton. It is a small sports park with one field that has good links north to St Andrews Park and south to the Bryant Road Plantation.
