Major works required to prepare the Rostrevor and Tristram Streets roundabout start this week.
The Rostrevor/Tristram roundabout will be taken out and replaced with an innovative sectional and removable rubber roundabout. Additional work needed to prepare the circuit includes pavement alignment, surfacing and the removal of throat islands that approach the roundabout.
The roadwork project will require the periodic closure of sections of the roundabout and stop/go operations throughout the construction process. Traffic management and signed detour routes will be in place as required over the period.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should anticipate some delays over this period and are encouraged to allow an extra 10-15 minutes travel time during peak hours and if possible, use an alternate route in order to bypass this intersection during the construction period.
Works are scheduled to be complete by 10 August 2007, weather permitting.
