The first blog to be launched from a Hamilton City Council website is now live on Hamilton Libraries website www.hamiltonlibraries.co.nz .
This new public blog space is available to all users of the Hamilton Libraries website and will open with the thread: Should Hamilton Libraries have a blog?
Hamilton City Libraries director Faye Clark says the key proposition driving the new blog is greater communication and interaction between libraries and library users.
"The needs and interests of our users are becoming increasingly diverse. We're committed to ensuring our service continually evolves to meet these needs and a critical part of this is keeping our finger on the pulse as to what our users want. The blog provides an open channel for users to provide feedback, make suggestions and share opinions with eachother and directly to library staff.
"The blog is also something that users can create with Hamilton Libraries. We hope that blog-users provide feedback as to how they would like to see the blog take shape and contribute to this process. Users are also invited to participate in shaping the services and resources offered by their library.
The launch of the blog adds another dimension to the libraries' commitment to providing exceptional customer service."
