A multi-media initiative recognising the achievements of young Hamiltonians returns next week.

A project led by Hamilton City Council’s Community Development and Leisure Unit, 30 Under 30 was originally launched in 2015. The first series featured profiles of 30 young Hamiltonians who are either achieving in their chosen field – be it a sport, creative outlet, or recreation pursuit, or a contribution to their community – or who have overcome personal adversity.

Among those originally featured were BLACKCAPS all-rounder Mitchell Santner, Pecha Kucha organiser Jess Molina, football referee Sarah Walker and boxer David Nyika.

The 2017 series of 30 Under 30 launches on Monday, 21 August, with a special event at Zeal (Ward Ln, Hamilton) during which the participants being profiled are named.

The event starts at 8.30am and media are welcome to attend.

The 2017 30 Under 30 profiles will feature in video and text form, and appear on the Council’s website and social media channels.
