Two sections of Hamilton’s popular river path network will be closed over the next two weeks to allow for tree management work.
On Thursday 2 November and Friday 3 November, a section of Fairfield Esplanade north of Fairfield Bridge will be closed while Hamilton City Council arborists remove a small group of trees from the river side.
The work will commence at 8am on both days, and conclude at 3pm on Thursday and at 12.30pm on Friday. Path users will need to detour via River Rd.
On Wednesday 9 November a short section of the river path on Hamilton Parade – north of the Whitiora Bridge – will be the site of other tree management work, which requires use of a small crane.
The path north of Whitiora Bridge may be temporarily closed for short periods while the crane is in operation, but Council staff at the site will guide path users through the area when it is considered safe to do so.
