With so much going on in Hamilton this weekend, we have collated our fab five things to do:

1. Fireworks Extravaganza – Friday 2 March – Hamilton Lake

Sir William and Lady Judi Gallagher's gift to the families of Hamilton. Come along to Hamilton Lake, bring a picnic and a rug and enjoy an amazing fireworks display. Fireworks start at appromately 8.45pm.

2. Children's Day 2018 – Saturday 3 March – Garden Place

Children’s Day is back for 2018. Come down to Garden Place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday for rides, amusements, face painting, free entry to Exscite at the Waikato Museum and much more. Entry is free.

3. Chinese Lantern Festival – Saturday 3 March – Garden Place

Bring the family along from 6pm for an evening of great entertainment: Dragon & Lion Dance, Magic Show, Live Cultural Performances, Food Stalls and  Chinese Lanterns.

4. Frankton Thunder – Sunday 4 March – Frankton Village

The annual Frankton Thunder Automotive Festival is an event which brings together a wide range of automotive interest groups including classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, club displays, military vehicles, performance vehicles and drag racing displays.

5. Hospice Waikato Run for Life 2018 – Sunday 4 March - Hamilton Gardens

Join your family, friends and colleagues to exercise, celebrate life and to make the very most of another beautiful day! We know you’ll have a great morning enjoying an energetic (or leisurely) 5km or 10km fun run or walk alongside Hamilton’s leafy river banks, plus, you’ll be helping Hospice Waikato with every step!
