Food stalls at events and for fundraising

Event Organiser

As the event organiser you have the sole management to ensure that your event runs smoothly and that the public are safe when eating at your event.

Complete the Event Permit Schedule of Proposed Food Vendors (PDF, 229KB) and submit this with the relevant individual food stall vendor information.

Fundraising

You do not have to register under the Food Act 2014 if you're selling food to raise funds for a charitable, benevolent, philanthropic or cultural purpose and is not carried out on more than 20 times in a calendar year.   There is still an obligation under the Food Act 2014 to make sure you serve safe and suitable food.

Food Trading - Once a Year

A person who does not ordinarily trade in food, and is wanting to sell food on no more than 1 occasion in any calendar year is exempt from registration.  There is still an obligation to make sure you serve safe and suitable food.
