Traffic Signals and Other Cable Locations

Hamilton City Council offer a free cable location service for work at or near traffic signals. This includes locating traffic loops in the road surface and footpath. Some old service plans may also be available.  You can request this service by contacting 07 838 6699 or emailing info@hcc.govt.nz.

Utility and other cables are best located using the beforeudig process at www.beforeudig.co.nz. Private individuals or organisations have no right to install private cables within the road reserve but they may be allowed at the discretion of Council. You can Contact the Infrastructure Alliance on 07 838 6699 or emailing info@hcc.govt.nz who will give further details about how to apply for such a cable and the conditions that will be imposed.

If you are intending on carrying out work within the road reserve please ensure you complete a Corridor Access Request.
