Fund Round closes on 15 August 2018.

Council offers an annual $100,000 Heritage Fund to help owners of listed heritage buildings and group 1 archaeological sites.   The fund is to incentivise the protection, conservation, restoration and use of both built heritage and archaeological sites within Hamilton.

Applications are sought in July of each financial year and all works need to be completed and invoices presented to Council for payment before 30 June of that same financial year.

The Heritage Fund is a result of actions set out in the Hamilton Heritage Plan and supports projects for privately-owned heritage items listed in Schedule 8A or on group 1 archaeological sites listed in Schedule 8B of the District Plan. ​

During the previous rounds 25 projects were supported by the Heritage Fund these included the development of heritage conservation plans, building assessment reports, earthquake strengthen​ing works through to the restoration and repair of leadlight windows and sash windows, repair to porches and decorative plaster works and borer treatment. List of funded projects​.
