Hamilton Netball Centre has secured $1.3M of external funding from Trust Waikato for improvements to the Minogue Park netball courts' playing surface.
This funding includes the application of a Rebound Ace rubberised sports surface to the courts and improving the sub-surface drainage system. This would bring the courts up to Netball NZ's standards – a first for the region – and ensure a council-owned asset stays fit for purpose.
To supplement these improvements to the courts, Hamilton City Council has committed funds to improve the Hamilton Netball Centre building. This includes the refurbishment of the toilets, changing rooms and storage to meet the needs of the netball community who regularly use the facility.
The works will commence the week of Monday 6 January 2020 and are expected to be completed at the end of March 2020, in time for the netball season.
