Construction work to further improve safety and connectivity on Baverstock Rd will get underway soon.
After hearing the Rotokauri community and their concerns around safety issues and accessibility in the area, the Council set aside up to $2.9M in the 2018-28 10-Year Plan to urbanise the road.
What are we doing?
- Urbanising Baverstock Rd (from Jack Rise to the Baverstock Rd and Brymer Rd intersection) — taking it from looking like a country road to one with kerb and channel and footpaths.
- Creating a safer environment for people on bikes and pedestrians with new shared path.
- Building an interim pedestrian and biking connection from Baverstock Rd and Brymer Rd intersection to the entrance of Zoo/Waiwhakareke.
Base Civil have been contracted to undertake the work which is expected to take approximately six months to complete.
