Baverstock Rd upgrade

Work will begin soon to further improve the safety and connectivity on Baverstock Rd. With the city continuing to grow in the west, Baverstock Rd has become increasingly busier as a regular connection route for local and Waikato District communities.

Following increasing public feedback, the Council set aside $2.9M in its 2018/28 10-Year Plan for safety and connectivity improvements along the road.

We are excited to let you know work on the upgrade will start soon and will include:

  • Urbanising Baverstock Rd. Meaning taking it from looking like a country road to one with kerb and channel and footpaths.
  • A smoother and wider road with shared biking and pedestrian paths creating a safer speed environment.
  • Improved access to the zoo which will also include a pedestrian and biking connection.
See below how the road will look once finished.
