Eastern Pathways

Eastern Pathways is a project which aims to make it easier and safer for people in a defined area on the east of our city to get around their neighbourhoods by bike, on foot, or by bus when heading further afield.

It's focused on the streets in the neighbourhoods of Chartwell, Queenwood, Fairfield, Claudelands, Enderley, Hillcrest and Hamilton East.

We’ve chosen this area because it’s a hive of transport activity thanks largely to being home to over 15 schools as well as several shopping precincts and the University of Waikato.

The project will be rolled out in a phased manner over the next eight years and we need your help to make sure we get it right and address the issues that really matter to you.

Where are we at right now?

We're in the early stages of planning and engagement and welcome all ideas to help us shape the phasing of the works over the next eight years.

So, when do we start?

The countdown is on and our first round of idea and consultation will be kicking off October 2019
