What does this mean for Waikato Museum, ArtsPost and i-SITE?

The safety and wellbeing of our community, our customers and our team members is our number one priority. We are closely monitoring the advice from the Government and Ministry of Health and will be updating our customers via our website and social media platforms as new information becomes available.

Are we open?

No. Effective Sunday 22 March the Waikato Museum and ArtsPost is closed to the public as a precaution to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Government has now put the country on Alert Level 3, which means all public spaces must close. From midnight Wednesday 25 March, we are on Alert level 4 and everyone must stay at home unless they work in an essential service.

I wanted to see the Dinosaur exhibition, what if I miss out?

Once the Museum reopens, we will look to see if it is possible to extend the Dinosaur exhibition if necessary.

I have a GrabOne voucher for the Museum, what happens with that?

When we're up and running again we will honour all GrabOne vouchers which expired during the closure.

I'm visiting Hamilton – how can I get information about what to do here?

It's important that everyone limits their movements over the next four weeks or for as long as we are on Alert Level 4. But, if you're planning a trip to see us in the future our i-SITE is continuing to operate remotely. Our helpful team can be contacted via phone, email and website:
