What does this mean for events?

​What is happening with citizenship ceremonies?
We are currently working with the Department of Internal Affairs on possible options for citizenship. These include: smaller ceremonies, more frequent ceremonies, virtual ceremony options. Until these have been thoroughly investigated, candidates will continue to receive their certificates directly from DIA.

If my event was permitted before the onset of COVID-19, do I need to reapply?
If you event was permitted prior to COVID-19 you will need to email cityevents@hcc.govt.nz to advise that your event will now go ahead. In that email you will need to provide details of how the event will provide the appropriate health and safety measures.

Are we able to use Council parks and open spaces to hold an event?
Yes, but you will still need to follow the event permit application process. 

Can our event provide food, have food vendors available?
Yes.
