Hamilton City Libraries is looking for local musicians, bands and performers to showcase as part of its New Zealand Music Month celebrations 'Soundz Like Hamilton'.

Taking place at Hamilton Central Library during the last two weeks of May, Soundz Like Hamilton aims to promote local talent while providing a wide variety of entertainment to caters to all tastes.

Community Programmes Librarian Dawn Carlisle said since its inception five years ago, Soundz Like Hamilton has cemented itself as a popular annual event.

"Performers donate their time while Hamilton Central Library donates the venue, enabling two weeks of free lunchtime, evening and weekend performances for the public to enjoy.

"Each year Soundz Like Hamilton just gets better and better and this year we anticipate it will be the best year yet," she said.

Performers of all ages and musical styles are invited to register to perform at Soundz Like Hamilton. Anyone interested in registering should visit www.hamiltonlibraries.co.nz or phone the Community Programmes team on 838 6842. Registrations close at 5pm on 24 April.
