Dinsdale Community Library will be closed for five days later this month while a new circulation counter is installed.

The closure will run from Thursday, 19 March until Tuesday, 24 March, during which time local library users will be encouraged to access all services including circulation services, internet and Ticket Direct, from the five other branches of Hamilton City Libraries.

Hamilton City Libraries Acting Director Robyn Pengelly says the counter upgrade at Dinsdale Library is part of Hamilton City Council's library maintenance programme, and will offer extra ease and efficiency to patrons issuing or returning books.

"Hamilton City Libraries strive to offer a warm, welcoming environment for patrons together with efficient, accessible services. We are mindful that the temporary closure of Dinsdale Library may inconvenience some users, however we are confident that the new efficiencies the upgraded circulation counter offers will enable patrons to enjoy long-term benefits and improvements.

"We are also confident that Hamilton Central Library in Garden Place and the other community libraries will meet the needs of any Dinsdale Library patrons who need to access library services during the five-day closure," she said.

The other community libraries throughout the city include: Chartwell Library on Lynden Court; Glenview Library on McDonald Road; Hillcrest Library on Masters Avenue; and St Andrews Library on Braid Road.

Dinsdale Library will fully reopen and resume normal library hours on Wednesday, 25 March.
