1. Herman's Hermits – Friday 28 July – Clarence St Theatre

When the 1960s British Invasion hit worldwide, Herman’s Hermits were one of the biggest groups out of the UK with their hits. Mrs Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter, No Milk Today, I’m Henry VIII, There’s a Kind of Hush, A Must-to-Avoid and 15 other classics hitting the NZ Top 10.

2. 2017 National Contemporary Art Award – Friday 28 July to Monday 31 July – Waikato Museum

The National Contemporary Art Award can be described as brave, colourful and never shy. Contemporary art is simply described as art that has been and continues to be created during our lifetimes. In other words, contemporary to us.

3. Battlegrounds NZ - Battle of the Genres – Saturday 29 July – The Meteor

Come on down to The Meteor and witness some of the most dynamic dance battles in history, all under one roof.

4. 4 Seasons River Run/Walk 5km or 10km – Saturday 29 July – Matakanohi Reserve

The run and walk follows the path of the Waikato River, so no roads. Refreshments will be provided at the finish line and there will be finishing certificates you can print out.

5.  Cantando Choir and Friends - Messiah Handel – Sunday 30 July – St Paul’s Collegiate Chapel

Handel’s much-loved oratorio Messiah is traditionally performed at Christmas or Easter as it tells of the birth, death and resurrection of Christ. By deciding to perform the work in the middle of the year, Cantando is offering the audience an uplifting mid-winter experience.
