With so much going on in Hamilton this weekend and next week, we have collated our fab five things to do:

1. Festival One 2018 – Friday 26 January to Monday 29 January – Mystery Creek Events Centre

With community the central icon on its metaphorical flag, Festival One comes across a little different. Born in the dusty summer of 2015, the festival has now run continuously for three strong years. Each year a wave of sun-soaked people from around the tiny islands of New Zealand come together and pitch their tents with intense expectation.

2. Men's Four Nations Hockey - Friday 26 January 2018 to Sunday 28 January 2018 - Gallagher Hockey Centre

The University of Waikato Men's Four Nations Series features the Vantage Black Sticks, Belgium, India and Japan from 17th - 28th January in Tauranga and Hamilton. Watch world class hockey on home soil this summer!

3. Anthonie Tonnon – Friday 26 January – The Meteor

Anthonie Tonnon is a songwriter and performer orginally from Dunedin. Since releasing the album Successor, which picked up nominations for both the Taite Prize and The APRA Silver Scroll in 2015, Tonnon has toured extensively, supporting The Veils and Nadia Reid in North America and Europe, and The Chills on a thorough tour of New Zealand, as well as his own headline tours in the USA and Australasia.

4. 4Seasons River Run/Walk – Saturday 27 January – Ann Street, Beersecourt

Welcome to the 4 Seasons River Run/Walk. Enjoy the Waikato River while participating in our Spring fun run/walking event. Registration opens at 7.45am and closes at 8.45am. The run/walk follows the path of the Waikato river with no roads, just the paths. Water will be provided at the finish line and there will be finishing certificates you can print out.

5. The 3x3 Basketball Quest Tour – Sunday 26 January – Garden Place

The 3x3 basketball Quest Tour is returning to the heart of Hamilton in Garden Place. This dynamic basketball discipline, a.k.a streetball, brings the skills of 5-aside basketball outdoors in a fast-paced format that's easy to play. Entry is free and open to players of all ages. It's easy to be part of this exciting event. Just create a player profile on Play.FIBA3x3.com, reply to the confirmation email then you can register your team. It's that easy!
