6 April 2018
A community information day is being held on Monday 9 April for those interested in learning more about the final stage of the Ring Road project extending Wairere Dr to Cobham Dr.
The information day runs from 3-7pm at the Air Cadet Hall on the corner of Wairere Dr, Cambridge Rd and Naylor St, with people invited to drop in any time.
Hamilton City Council and NZ Transport Agency staff will be on hand to share information about the project which will see completion of the city’s arterial roading network, supporting safer and more efficient travel through the city.
Plans will also be available for the proposed upgrade at the Cambridge Rd/Cobham Dr intersection which is expected to happen following completion of Wairere Dr.
When complete in 2020 Cobham Dr will be raised to allow the four-laned Wairere Dr to pass beneath it, accompanied by extended shared on and off-road walking and cycling paths. The new intersection and overbridge will have full on and off-ramp connections, and the design allows a future connection to the proposed Peacocke roading network across the Waikato River to enable residential growth in the south of the city.
