The popular yearly Hamilton Tulip Festival in the pavilion of the Hamilton Gardens. Performances by local choirs and dance groups, a floral art show, life music, and food stalls with traditional Dutch food. Entry is free

2. NZSO - Pianomania with Freddy Kempf – Saturday 16 September – Claudelands Arena

Freddy Kempf’s previous appearance with the NZSO provoked standing ovations. This concert of piano favourites promises even more as Kempf explores the history of the piano over the last 300 years.

4. Spring Into Gear - Ride the Western Rail Trail – Sunday 17 September – Norris Park
