Express applications

The last date for an Express LIM Application this year is Friday 7 December. If you do apply for an Express LIM after that date you will be entitled to a refund although it may not be processed until the new year. 
We will begin accepting Express LIM Applications again on Monday 14 January 2019.

Regular applications

We will continue to accept normal applications, but they are unlikely to be completed before we close for the year. 

The Council will be closed from Friday 21 December to Monday 7 January.​​

​​​Hamilton City Council now offers a new facility for ordering a Land Information Memorandum (LIM). The new facility will let you:

  • Select the property you are ordering a LIM for
  • Attach the Certificate of Title (CT) for the property to the application, if you have one
  • Ask Council to get a CT for you if you do not have one (fee applies)
  • Request an urgent LIM (residential only - additional fee applies)
  • Pay by credit card or internet banking immediately

If you would like to pay by internet banking you will need the following details to make a payment:
Our Bank Details - BNZ, Hamilton Branch, account number: 02 0316 0030142 06 

Other Details - in the particulars field put the reference LIM T131, in the code field put the address of the property and in the reference field put as much of the applicants name that will fit.

Please note: Processing your LIM report will not begin until all the following information has been provided including receipt of full payment and the HISTORICAL Certificate of Title: TITLE IMAGE VIEW plus the SUPPLEMENTARY RECORD SHEET (if cross lease/unit title property). Payment details will be displayed once you have submitted your application. 

A Certificate of Title can be obtained by visiting Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), alternatively you may be able to obtain one from your Real Estate Agent or Lawyer. Council is able to order a Certificate of Title on your behalf at an additional cost of $27.00.
