Personal Hire Device permits

Councillors voted 10-2 in favour to trial the use of Personal Hire Devices (PHDs) in public places for a six-month period at the Growth and Infrastructure Committee on 18 June 2019.

A robust Code of Practice has been developed by staff outlining the requirements operators applying for a permit must adhere to and will be monitored against.  The trial will be monitored by staff and reported to the Growth and Infrastructure Committee with recommendations for any further amendments.

Interested parties are now being asked to submit their application for permit for Personal Hire Devices to Hamilton City Council. All details in relation to the process are listed below:
